- Counting trays are basically designed to allow tablets/capsules to be counted by a pharmacist, pharmacy technician or other professional from a stock supply and then placed into a dispensing bottle without the need for the capsules/tablets to touch human hands. The tablets/capsules are first poured into the centre of the tray and then moved into the well by the pharmacist using a spatula. The usual amount of tablets/capsules moved into the well per stroke is 5. Once the correct amount of tablets/capsules are in the well the pharmacist then closes the well and pours any excess tablets from the flat surface of the counting tray back into the stock bottle.
1. Why do some trays have numbers on the cone?
A. To be frank, there is no good reason to put numbers on the cone since one counts product into the cone and the numbers don't signify anything and at best distort the view into the cone where the pharmacist could check if all the tablets/capsules are similar.
2. Does the counting tray come with a spatula?
A. Yes it does. We include a real nylon spatula in every tray we sell. Nylon is flexible and doesn't break. We make a comfortable spatula with a substantial handle that is easy to hold. It doesn't scratch the surface of the tray and also is useful for packing one ounce jars of cream.
3. Can I count other items with this tray?
A. Yes you can! We have sold our trays to electronic, orthodontic, bead supply companies and they use our trays to count their small products.
4. Can you imprint your trays?
A. Yes it is possible to print them from the rear since you don't want the inks and the medicines to touch. Please contact us for pricing and quantities.
